Oslo in Late October 2026: Dance, Oktoberfest and Big Gigs

Late October in Oslo is busier than usual this year, and three things carry the next two weeks. CODA Oslo International Dance Festival began on 8 October and runs until 18 October. Oktoberfest Oslo, which also began on 8 October, has two weekends left at Youngstorget, from Thursday to Saturday. Oslo Spektrum hosts Bob Dylan and Deep Purple.

Much of it happens within a short distance of Oslo Central Station, so you can plan several events on the same evening or across a weekend.

The three anchors

CODA (until 18 October)

Visit Oslo describes CODA as Scandinavia's largest international dance festival. The festival is already running, and performances are spread across several venues, including Dansens Hus in Oslo and Bærum Kulturhus. Check the programme for the exact venue of each show.

A festival pass is on sale through the official programme page. If you plan to see more than a couple of performances in the festival's final days, it is the obvious choice.

Oktoberfest at Youngstorget (Thursday–Saturday)

According to the official Oktoberfest Oslo site, two weekends remain:

• 15–17 October
• 22–24 October

Expect large beer tents, Bavarian beer, bratwurst and other German food, with Tyrolean live music.

Youngstorget is one of the most central squares in Oslo. It is within walking distance of Jernbanetorget and Oslo S, and Torggata's run of restaurants and bars starts right beside it. That makes it an easy add-on before or after almost anything else on this list.

Big names at Oslo Spektrum

Two major acts play the arena over the next two weeks:

• Bob Dylan, Saturday 17 October
• Deep Purple, Wednesday 28 October

Week by week

This week: 15–18 October

This is the fullest stretch of the period.

• Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October: Oktoberfest's second-to-last weekend at Youngstorget.
• Saturday 17 October:Bob Dylan plays Oslo Spektrum. The show is listed as sold out, so if you buy from anyone other than an official seller, check carefully what you are getting.
• Sunday 18 October: CODA's final day.

If you want to combine dance and beer, consider an early-evening CODA performance on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, then head up to Youngstorget for a late stein.

Next week: 19–25 October

Thursday 22 October opens Oktoberfest's final weekend, which runs to Saturday 24 October.

If you have a free Friday or Saturday, the last Oktoberfest nights are a good way to round off the week.

Final stretch: 26–28 October

On Wednesday 28 October, Deep Purple bring their SPLAT! World Tour 2026 to Oslo Spektrum. Live Nation Norway lists doors at 18:30, and tickets are sold there.

A midweek date means a quieter city around the arena. Eating beforehand should be straightforward.

Getting to Oslo Spektrum

Oslo Spektrum is close to Oslo Central Station, the bus terminal and Jernbanetorget. Jernbanetorget is the hub for trains, metro, trams and buses, so public transport is by far the easiest way in and out.

Construction note: Oslo Spektrum has building work running from autumn 2026 to autumn 2028, and some walking routes may change. Read the venue's getting-there page before your concert, and allow a few extra minutes.

Eating around the events

Arena nights and Oktoberfest weekends fill restaurants close to the venues, so book ahead for Fridays and Saturdays.

• Before Spektrum: The streets around Oslo S and Bjørvika have plenty of choice.
• Near Youngstorget: Torggata and the streets around the square work for a meal before the tents, or for a late bite after.
• On CODA days: An early dinner before or after a performance is easy to arrange in the city centre.
